| After Pak it is PoK repeating lies on Kashmir | | | When a lie is repeated it becomes
truth. This is what the leadership
in Pakistan occupied Kashmir has begun to do. In fact it is trying to emulate Islamabad which has been consistently raising the Kashmir issue in the international fora, including the UN General Assembly. This time the Government in Pakistan occupied Kashmir has adopted a novel method of highlighting the Kashmir problem when it, through a resolution adopted by the cabinet, has urged the international community to settle the Kashmir issue. The Pakistan occupied Kashmir cabinet has called upon international community to play its effective role in resolving the longstanding Kashmir issue which is imperative for establishing durable peace in South Asia. The PaK Prime Minister Chaudhry Abdul Majeed presided over the meeting, According to the report the meeting through its "resolution highly condemned the atrocities being carried out in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir by Indian security forces and urged the global community to help stop Kashmiris genocide in held territory."The meeting lauded the efforts of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for highlighting the lingering Kashmir dispute in its true perspective at United Nation General Assembly meeting and other international forums, the report said. The resolution stated that four-point peace formula presented by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at UNGA is only a way forward to peace in the region. The very tone and tenor of the resolution seems to be a bid by the Occupied Kashmir Government to please its master in Islamabad otherwise there should have been no occasion for raising the Kashmir issue. At least Occupied Kashmir Government should have kept in mind the way New Delhi rejected Nawaz Sharif's four-point peace initiative. When in the past the then military ruler, Gen. Parvez Musharraf, had mooted four point Kashmir formula which was slightly better than Nawaz Sharif's proposal New Delhi had rejected his formula also. In addition to this the occupied Kashmir cabinet should have taken a note of India's stand on the issue. India has been telling the world community that if there is any Kashmir issue it is the fate and future of Pakistan occupied Kashmir which is legally part of India. Even the Indian Parliament has adopted a resolution favouring liberation of occupied Kashmir.
It would have been better for Occupied Kashmir Prime Minister, Ch. Abdul Majeed, to focus his attention on growing atrocities of Pakistani forces on people of Occupied Kashmir. But unfortunately Abdul Majeed has been able to talk about what he calls atrocities of Indian forces in Jammu and Kashmir. Is killing of Pakistan supported and trained militants an atrocity? Certainly not. Is placing separatists under house arrest an act of repression or oppression? Certainly not because despite enjoying freedom of movement and speech the activities of these separatists endanger peace in Kashmir. Is it not then proper for the Government to place them under house arrest for brief spells of time ? Well Abdul Majeed talks of peace in South Asia. Has he been able to guarantee peace in Pakistan and Occupied Kashmir? No he has not been able to do so.And terrorists of various hues keep on attacking the security forces and soft targets in Pakistan thereby enhancing the level of political and security instability. If the Pakistan Army kills groups of terrorists in countger operations is it repression ? Is it oppression? No it is not because these terrorists are a danger to the very survival of Pakistan. In the same way militants operating in Jammu and Kashmir are a danger to the very survival of the State. It is time Islamabad and Muzaffarabad forget about the Kashmir issue and work for the improvement of economic condition of people in Pakistan and occupied Kashmir. |
