JAMMU, Nov 28 : Jammu athletes once again geared-up for eighth edition of the Delhi Airtel Half Marathon of 21.042 kilometers to be held tomorrow at the National Capital.
The event is open for different age groups of 24 years to 60 years and above in both male and female categories. Already reached the venue, the participating athletes are Nakul Saraf, Gaurav Gupta, Pawan Sharma, VK Dogra, Rajesh Padha and Prabhat Singh.
While Nakul is first-timer in such an event, inspiration for all, Rajesh Padha is taking part in a marathon for the fifth time. Rajesh took part in all the three Police Half Marathons held in the state. He has also participated in two full Standard Charted Mumbai Marathons in 2014 and this year.
Rajesh is a silver medal winner in the National Masters Meet (10,000 kms) 2015 held at Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh. The lone lady runner from the state in Delhi Marathon, Pawan Sharma has to her credit a gold in Dharamshala Masters Meet and Pune Half Marathon in 2015. |
