AWWA seeks regularization, equal pay for equal work | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Nov 28 : Anganwadi Workers Welfare Association (AWWA) today staged massive protest demonstration at Bhagat Singh park Kathua wherein the workers stringently raised demand for regularization and equal pay for equal work. The workers alleged on department to supply expiry nutrition that can be unhygienic for toddlers. While interacting to media, Swarna Choudhary, President Anganwari Wokers Welfare Association said Anganwardi Workers/ Helpers held demonstration in the support of demands under the banner of Anganwardi workers welfare Association ( A unit of Bhartiya Mazdoor sang) demanded from the state government to increase in salary of workers/ helpers to Rs 15000- and Rs 10,000/- Pm. While addressing to protesters, leader BMS Lakhshman Ravinder Singh, Subash Verma President, Ashok Choudhary Gen secy, Ishfaq Hamed Chouhan Vice President of Bhartiya Mazdoor Sang J&K state, Sawarna Choudhary Anganwadi Association President, Sushma Devi Distt President Kathua, Nirmal Devi and Kiran Pathania said that the prices of these essential commodities are touching sky and Government should increased the salary but the department asking workers for 6 hours duty but has not increased salary which is great injustice with workers. When contacted to programme Officer, ICDS Kathua, said all the demands raised by workers are already been taken up with the high authority which would be redress soon. He said the instructions have already been passed on all Aganwardi Centre that if they receive expired nutrition item, they can replace with immediate effect. |
