Kathua, Nov 28 : To intensify the drive against female foeticide and in the promotion of ' Save Girl- Educate Girl", the girls student of Rajeev Gandhi College of Education today took out a rally at Kathua. The rally commenced from College premises after flagged off by Ashwani Kumar, DFO Kathua Forest Division ( territory ). The students highlighted the importance of girls by displaying placards. Anjali Sharma, a student, said drastic decline in sex ratio from 2001 census to 2011 is alarming bell for society that needs regular check and strict action against social evils. She said girls compete with male in each & every field that must encourage parents to save girl child but it seems that there is need to organize awareness camps in each locality. Sushma Verma, another students, had similar views and added that girls need special treatment as man teaches a family but a girl can aware both the families. She added that girls are neither helpless nor behind to anyone whereas they can contribute for the development of the society so people must have positive approach towards female child. While urging the participants, Aswani Kumar DFO Kathua who was also chief guest on the occasion said there is need to aware people about role of female in the development of the society. He said females have proved themselves that they are not behind to anyone in the society. |
