5 bovine smugglers held

RAJOURI, Nov 29: Police today arrested five bovine smugglers from Potha in Kalakote while they were illegally carrying 10 milch animals.
The smugglers were apprehended by a police party led by Inspector Surinder Singh Khdyal, SHO of Kalakot police station, during a routine checking on Kalakote-Rajouri road. They were found carrying 10 animals which were later freed by the cops, police sources said.
They were smuggling the animals in a Tata mobile vehicle bearing registration No JK02AJ/4927 to Srinagar via Mughal Road.
Sources identified the accused as Mohammad Rafiq, Lal Hussain, both residents of Thanamandi, Salam Hussain, Mohammad Kabir, both residents of Sial Sui in Kalakot, and Mukhtar Hussain They were booked under sections 188 of RPC and 3 of PCA.
