JAMMU, Nov 29: An official of the Raj Bhawan is throwing his weight around in influencing the administration of the University of Jammu to get undue favours for his blue eyed.
The official is reportedly trying to get a university sanitary supervisor appointed as Sanitary inspector in contravention of norms. The sanitary supervisor who has put in seven years of service as contractual employee was being regularized as sanitary inspector against the norms which lay that regularization of contractual employee can be done on the same post. However, after the report of an attempt being made by the JU authorities to extend undue favour to the said employee appeared in ET, the move was scuttled and the employee had to be regularized on the same post.
However, the sanitary supervisor is now using his contact in the Raj Bhawan in influencing JU authorities to regularize his services as sanitary inspector.
"This official of the Governor House is running parallel administration and interfering in the affairs of the JU and is pressurizing the VC to regularize Suresh Sharma, sanitary supervisor as inspector "sources informed.
"Following pressure from Raj Bhawan official, VC JU has constituted a high level committee with officers including Registrar, Controller Examination and other officers as members so that later no one objected to the decision to appoint the supervisor in question as inspector" the source added.
Meanwhile, stake holders in the JU who are averse to the decision in this regard have decided to send a representation to the Chancellor, seeking his intervention in restraining his official from interfering in JU administrative affairs. |
