Early Times Report Srinagar, Nov 30: Following directions from State Vigilance Commission (SVC), the vigilance organization has booked Block Medical Officer (BMO) Uri who in connivance with his subordinate staff has caused huge loss to the government exchequer running into lakhs of rupees. Official spokesperson said, "Taking serious note of a specific complaint made by Dr Azad Ahmad before State Vigilance Commission (SVC) regarding demand and acceptance of illegal gratification by BMO Uri and his Assistant for releasing pending arrears/salary in respect of contractual Doctors and paramedics including wife of the complainant namely Dr Sameena Qayoom, the State Vigilance Commission vide order dtd 17/08/2015, directed the Vigilance Organization for initiation of a Preliminary Enquiry in order to surface the nexus." "The Vigilance Organization after thorough enquiry prima-facia established that the arrears in respect of 13 Contractual (doctors, Paramedics and some other staff) employees have been drawn in sheer violation of Government order No: 1661-GAD of 2009 dated 26-11-2009 resulting in loss to the Government Exchequer running into laksh of rupees, he added. He said, "Accordingly, Vigilance Organization registered a case FIR No. 47/2015 in P/S VOK u/s 5 (1) (c) (d) r/w 5(2) J&K PC Act-2006, Section 120-B, 467, 468, 471-RPC against the accused public servants and further investigation are on." |
