JAMMU, Nov 30: University of Jammu (JU) had to contain with runners-up trophy after they lost to Jamia Milia Islamia University, New Delhi by three wickets in the final of the All India Vice Chancellor's Cup Twenty20 Tournament held a DDU University, Gorkhpur in Uttar Pradesh today. Reports reaching here informed that JU, batting first, set a low target of 123 runs for nine wickets with Rajesh (19), Shammi (20) and Niranjan (16) being main contributors to the total. From Jamia Milia, Fareed remained most successful bowler with three for 22 while Sarfaraz took two. In reply, Jamia Milia chased the total in the last over of their innings making 123 runs for seven in 19.3 overs. Adeel made highest 47 runs while Akhlaq and Sarfaraz added 20 runs each. From JU, Rajesh and Balwant bowled well sharing two wickets each while Raj Kumar, Ameet Targotra and Daub Baba shared apiece each. Adeel of the winning Jamia Milia was declared man of the match. |
