Court Security Case: DB directs ADG Security to remain present in Court

Jammu, Nov 30: In a much publicized Public Interest Litigation (PIL) regarding security of judges, Advocates and Litigations, a Division Bench (DB) of state High Court comprising Chief Justice and Justice Bansi Lal Bhat directed Additional Director General of Police (Security), J&K, Jammu, to remain present before this Court on December 2. Division Bench after hearing both sides observed that report be called from the Principal District Judge, Jammu regarding the steps taken for removal/disposal of the combustible detonators, explosive substance/grenades and other articles from Malkhana. Division Bench further observed that to allay fear of the petitioner regarding security threat posed by the under trials and those who come to meet them and directed Principal District Judge, Jammu to ensure that all the under trials while bringing to the Court premises in the morning, are put in the lock up and produce them before the Court only when their cases are taken up. Court said that Principal District Judge, Jammu shall also ensure that no meeting between the under trails and their relatives/ visitors is takes place in the Corridor or within the District Court Complex and shall file compliance report in this regard.
