Jammu, Dec 1: Viraj Kala Kendra, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu in connection with a weeklong celebrations of birth anniversary of Late (Vidya Ratan Khajuria, an eminent sculptor, artist and a writer of J&K State, organized 'On the Spot Painting Competition' on Tuesday at Siksha Niketan Highr Secondary School, Jeevan Nagar. According to press release, on this programme. nearly 300 children of different branches of the school participated in this competition. R C Puri, Secretary, Red Cross Society, Jammu Division was the Chief Guest on this occasion. Mengi, Head of Siksha Niketan Institutions was the Guest of Honour. The function started with the welcome of the guests by Raj Bharti, President, Viraj Kala Kendra, Jammu. In her address she highlighted the activities and contribution of the Kendra. She said that Viraj Kala Kendra is working for the promotion of Art & Culture for last many years. The Kendra has been organizing various art competitions, workshops, camps and seminars for children and artists at local, state and national level and has plan to work in future as well. Speaking on this occasion R C Puri appreciated the talent shown by the children. He said that innovation is the basic property behind making us different from others. |
