BJP 'agrees' to Mehbooba as CM
12/2/2015 12:04:48 AM

Early Times Report
jammu, Dec 1: BJP top leadership has purportedly communicated to Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed that it is not averse to Mehbooba Mufti becoming the next CM.
According to sources, a section of the BJP leadership especially the Ministers were not agreeing to the prospects of Mehbooba heading the PDP-BJP Government.
The State unit had expressed its reservations about Mehbooba replacing her father as the next CM. The sources said the BJP Ministers also expressed the concern that as of now Mehbooba doesn't give any indication that she is prepared and matured enough to handle and lead a coalition Government which has ideological issues and works in extreme.
"The CM on receiving these inputs had discussions with the top BJP leadership and expressed his serious reservations about the view of the State unit of the BJP and also communicated that these may come in the scheme of the things. The BJP top leadership told the CM that they are not averse to Mehbooba replacing him and that he can go ahead with it but should take some time," said the sources.
They said the CM, to further allay the fears of the BJP State Ministers and its leadership, communicated to them that as and when Mehbooba takes charge, he will always be there to guide her and guard the interests of the coalition.
The CM also communicated to the BJP State unit that he had personally groomed her and it was she who agreed to the idea of having an alliance with the BJP, so nothing adverse should be expected from her conduct as the CM, the sources added.
