Kishtwar, Feb 6: Police today questioned district in charge of Muslim Deeni Maaz (MDM) who had allegedly circulated pamphlets in Jamia Masjid here and its surrounding areas, advocating release of HM activist Qasim Faktu, husband of Dukhtaran-e-Milat head Asiya Indrabi.
After a report about the circulation of pamphlets appeared in the today's edition of Early Times, police swung into action and detained Nisar Ahmed Sheikh alias Nisar Molvi, son of Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh of Ghumas Keshwan, who during his sustained questioning, allegedly confessed that he was the head of the organization and had circulated the pamphlets.

Later, police produced him before the district magistrate who transferred the case to the tehsildar, Kishtwar. Police had now launched a hunt for the man who supplied the pamphlets to Nisar Molvi and for the driver who transported them.
A senior police officer said investigation of the case was still going on and added that an FIR could also be registered in this case. The accused was already an OGW and his activities were under surveillance, he added.
He said nobody would be allowed to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere in the district and assured that stern action would be initiated against those involved in such activities.
The pamphlets highlighted the life history of Faktu who was in jail for the past 23 years in connection with a murder case. He is jailed for life by the Supreme Court.
