Shiv Dev Thakur Jammu, Feb 6: The timely home delivery of LPG cylinders still seems to be a distant dream here. Courtesy: CAPD department. The delivery of LPG cylinders after booking on IVR earlier took 3 to 4 days but it is now taking 20-25 days, resulting in inconvenience to consumers. Official sources said the CAPD department had failed to ensure the timely home delivery of LPG cylinders by the gas agencies. Even the consumers, who had given up subsidies on cooking gas, were suffering a lot on this account, the sources added. Sources said certain irregularities in the working of these agencies were also not ruled out. A consumer registered with a LPG distributor of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, while pleading anonymity, said even as the booking was made around 20 days back, the cylinder had not been delivered as yet. Ajai Singh, Public Grievances Redressal Officer, Jammu, LPG RO (HPCL), when contacted, said there was an error on IVR booking last year but now there was no such problem. He added, "In case any of the HPCL consumer faces problem regarding IVR or subsidy, he can directly contact me on my contact number which is written at each gas agency so that I can redress their problems and if the lethargy is on the part of the distributor, the latter will be dealt with strictly," he added. |
