Sandot WSS made functional, to benefit 5000 souls | | | M S NAZKI Early Times Report Mendhar, Feb 6: The Sandot water supply scheme (WSS), which has been made functional, would be benefitting 3,000 souls in Sandot and Balakote areas here. The scheme has been made functional by Public Health Engineering (PHE) department four years after it had developed some problems. It would benefit 3,000 souls living mostly close to the Line of Control in Balakote sector, official sources said. When contacted, Assistant Executive Engineer, PHE Sub-Division, Mendhar, Israr Ahmed Khan said this scheme was defunct for the past many years and now by the efforts of the people of these areas this scheme had been made functional and the hardships of the people of these areas would now come to an end. On many occasions, Indian army provided them drinking water, sources said. The people have hailed the role of authorities for making the water supply scheme of Sandot functional. Their hardships had been overcome by making the scheme fictional, they said. |
