Jammu, Feb 6 : IMS organized a two-day workshop held at Department of Computer Science on Computer hardware and Networking, technically supported by HCL CDC. According to press release, the aim of workshop aimed to provide comprehensive practical exposure to hardware assembling and de-assembling and networking basics. On the first day, the speakers Mukesh Sharma, Network Engineer and Miss Janvi Sudan, Technical counselor and Incharge Operation HCLCDC, apprised the students about the computer assembling and de-assembling, computer maintenance /trouble shooting, laptop maintenance and trouble shooting, Wi-Fi management and security ,network basics(Routers & Switches, classes of IP Addresses and their practical use, about operations and architecture of routers and switches (uses, hardware, software), Telnet and remote login. The second day was purely technical whereby the students were made to design a network and configure live routers and switches by remote logging and direct access to them. Students learned to implement networking technology on routers and switches. On the conclusion of the workshop, Prof.J.RDhotra, Director, IMS expressed his gratitude towards the experts for enhancing the technical skills of the students. |
