RAMBAN, Feb 6 : A legal awareness camp for the rights of Women and Children was organized by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) ,Ramban in the premises of the court of Sub-Judge, Batote today. During the camp the CJM, Ramban, Yahaya Firdous, Sub-Judge, Batote, Pawan Sharma, Senior Advocates AR Mushtaq, Zahur-ud-Din Babar and Suraj Singh Parihar besides the District Corres-pondent,Prasar Bharti (AIR, DD), Ravinder Kichlu educated the audience mostly including the local ASHA volunteers , Anganwadi workers, Para-Legal Volunteers, Sarpanchs, Panchs and prominent citizens of Batote about the various laws framed for the welfare of the women and children. The Domestic Violence Act, Child Labour Act, Anti-Dowry Act, Supreme Court Guidelines under DK Basu versus the government of West Bengal were prominently discussed on the occasion by the speakers. While speaking on the occasion,the chief guest, the Chairperson, DLSA, Principal & District Sessions Judge, Ramban, Kalpna Revo exhorted the women to think themselves superior most and not feel let down or be suppressed by anybody and learn or get educated or empowered to fight for their rights . She lamented that it is generally observed in the society that mostly a woman is an enemy of woman. |
