Jammu, Feb 7 : DCM Public School, Akhnoor celebrated its 6th Annual Day today at KR Resort Akhnoor with great zeal and enthusiasm. According to press release, the occasion was graced by Sr. Vice President JKPCC and Former Minister Sham Lal Sharma as the chief guest, while ID Soni, State Commissioner Bharat Scouts and Guides was the guest of honour. Kuldeep Singh Jamwal Chairma Industries Association Samba, Ex VC OBC Board Kuldeep Raj Verma, Sr. Leader Ram Swaroop, ,Sarpanchs and Panchs of Akhnoor Block were the special guests on the occasion. Sharma while addressing the parents laid stress on giving 'Value Based Education' and 'Teaching System' which inculcates among the young students that they need to imbibe and embalm within them. He further said that value based education imparts social, moral, integrity, character, spirituality and many more. It builds the qualities of humility, strength and honesty in a person. Sharma in his speech also appreciated the performance of children and hoped that they will work hard to excel in academics as well as extracurricular activities. State Commissioner Scouts and Guides, I.D. Soni in his speech threw light on formal education and functioning of Bharat Scouts and Guides in the state. "Activities of Scouts and Guide need encouragement as they promote character building, spirit of camaraderie and brotherhood, which is vital is overall character building of an individual," Soni emphasized. Chief Guest along with Chairman Sat pal Sharma, Director Dheeraj Sharma and other dignitaries inaugurated the function by lighting the Sacred Lamp. The Principal, Rama Jamwal presented the annual report highlighting the achievements of academic session 2015-16. |
