Banihal, Feb 7: Eight passengers, including four girl students, were injured in the collision of two vehicles on the national highway here today. Police sources said after colliding with a Tavera (JK16/0827), an Innova taxi (JK01X/8012) rolled down into a 100 ft deep gorge near Sheribibi, about 9 km from here, on the Jammu Srinagar national highway, resulting in injuries to eight persons, including four girl students. The injured were shifted to Banihal hospital. The four girl students were later referred to bone and joint hospital, Srinagar. Police identified the injured as Anees Ahmad (20), son of Mohammad Sadeeq Khan of Bemina, Srinagar, Nazira Bashir (19), daughter of Abdul Khaliq of Sopore, Nuzhat Ara (21), daughter of Azad Mohammad of Sopore, Junaid Ahmed (19), son of Mohammad Maqbool of Chadoora, Javid Ahmed (23), son of Sarfraz Ahmed of Sopore, Bilal Rafiq (22), son of Rafiq Ahmed of Budgam, Kashish (19), daughter of Nazir Ahmed of Batmaloo, and Innova driver Gulzar Ahmad. |
