No interviews for jobs in future: Raj Bhawan
2/8/2016 11:21:51 PM
Srinagar, Feb 8 : The Jammu and Kashmir government is mulling to implement the union government's order in the state wherein there will be no requirement for the interview in non- gazetted posts here.
Jammu and Kashmir which tops India when it comes to un-employment has witnessed surge in corruption in various government departments during the recruitment.
There have already been complaints mounting in the state over nepotism and partiality during the interview process.
The candidates, who have applied to various posts in the state, have been crying foul over the mode adopted during the recruitment.
Meanwhile, sources divulged that the new order, which the union government has already implemented, would be no less than a breather for the unemployed youth of the state. They divulged that the Raj
Bhawan has been contemplating its various modalities before finally implementing it on ground. If the order is implemented, there will be no recruitment with interview at the junior level posts in government of central ministries, departments, attached and subordinate offices, autonomous bodies.
There will only be skill test and no interview for junior-level posts. Further it has been learnt that in case of specific posts where the ministry or department wants to continue undertaking interview as a process of recruitment, a detailed proposal seeking exemption will have to be sent to the The department of personnel and training (DoPT) with the approval of the concerned ministry.
Pertinently, the prime minister has in his monthly radio programme 'Mann Ki Baat', last year recalled that he had suggested in his Independence Day address that the practice of holding interviews for recruitment at lower levels in governments could be done away with. "The government has completed the entire process to do away with interviews for lower rank jobs. There will be no requirement of interview for Group D,C and B non-gazatted posts in central government. It will come into effect from January 1, 2016," Modi had said.
If such an order is implemented in the state , there will six lac jobless youth who would be benefitted.
The number of unemployed youth registered in various District Employment and Counseling Centers is 6.01 La c as per the figures provided by the state authorities earlier. As per the figures, 3,21,562 youth have registered themselves in Kashmir region while the number is 2,80,285 in Jammu province.
Out of the registered unemployed youth only 3203 are illiterate, while 77,087 are middle pass and 1,65,208 are matriculate. More than 85,000 graduate and more than 20,000 post graduates have also registered themselves with the employment cells to seek jobs.
