Jammu, Feb 8: The State Vigilance Commission (SVC) in Jammu and Kashmir today sought action taken report (ATR) from the Deputy Commissioner of Kathua in weeding out the bogus and multiple ration cards from the district. SVC looking into the complaint regarding bogus and multiple ration cards possessed by some inhabitants of Kathua and some "non-state Residents", resulting in misappropriation of government ration and black marketing of essential food commodities with the connivance of officials of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department, an official said. An earlier report submitted by the Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, showed omissions and commissions by the officials of CA&PD Department, he said. The report said despite adequate evidence, no action seems to have been taken against the erring officials. (JNF) |
