Doda/Jammu, Feb 8: Doda Police claimed to have cracked the murder case of a lady who was killed during a scuffle between two rivalry parties on the other day in a locality falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Bhaderwah of district Doda, with the arrest of two main accused involved in a heinous crime while hunt is on to nab third accused who is absconding. Police spokesperson said the arrested accused have been identified as Ram Kumar @ Bittu (a BSF deserter) s/o Faqir Chand and Mukesh Kumar s/o Lekh Raj r/o Panshaie, A/P Bhatoli Giving details about the case, police said, "During the intervening night of February 07/08 , 2016, one Ram Kumar @ Bittu s/o Faqir Chand, Sanjay Kumar s/o Faqir Chand r/o Bhatoli, Tehsil Bhalla and Mukesh Kumar s/o Lekh Raj r/o Panshaie, A/P Bhatoli attacked upon one Shakuntla Devi w/o Nihal Chand r/o Bhatoli, Chain Singh s/o Nehal Chand and Nehal Chand s/o Sukhdev r/o Bhatoli, Tehsil Bhalla with sharp edged weapons with the intention to kill them. "During scuffle, Shakuntla Devi died on spot and rest two persons were injured seriously, police said. "On receiving information, Doda Police immediately swung into action and launched a manhunt to arrest the accused persons, police said. After collecting circumstantial evidences and after completing all codal formalities police handed over the body to family members for last rites. "Police during the investigations, conducted series of raids and arrested the main accused namely Ram Kumar and Mukesh Kumar from the nearby forest area. However, search is going on to arrest the third accused involved in the commission of crime. In this regard, case FIR No 12/2016 u/s 302/307/458/34 RPC stands registered at P/S Bhaderwah and investigations. Police said that the main accused namely Ram Kumar is a BSF deserter and earlier has been involved in a number of heinous cases. |
