Six bovine smugglers held, 17 bovines rescued | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 9: Police today foiled a bovine smuggling with the arrest of six smugglers besides rescuing 17 bovine animals from the clutches of bovine smugglers during a routine checking at Nagrota. The arrested bovine smugglers have been identified as Mohd. Hanief of Ragoora, Sidhra, Abdul Hamid of Talab Tillo Camp, Gole Gujral, Roshan Din of Rakh Baruthan, Vijaypur, Nazam Ali, Ghulam Ali and Faryad Ahmed all residents of Chanderkot, Ramban. Police said, "On specific information, a naka was raised on national Highway and police team intercepted a truck (JK02AL/2983), Mahindra Temp (JMU-6059) and TATA Mobile (JK02AN-0766) at Toll Post NHW-1A, Nagrota. "During search of vehicles police team rescued 17 bovine from vehicles which were being transported illegally", said spokesman. In this connection, a case under FIR No. 36/2016 under section 188 RPC has been registered and investigation taken up. |
