Bovine smuggling bid foiled, one held | | | Early Times Report Ramban, Feb 10: Continuing its drive against bovine smuggling especially after the smugglers have changed the modus oprenddi by smuggling bovine in cars and other small vehicles, Ramban police today foiled a bovine smuggling bid at Chanderkot of Ramban district with the arrest of one person. Police sources said, "The accused (driver) has been identified as Siddique Ahmed s/o Bashir Ahmed r/o 168, Khanpur, Nagrota, Jammu." According to police sources, a police party led by SHO PS Chanderkot Inspr Daljeet Singh under the supervision of Addl SP Ramban Arun Gupta and SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar laid a special naka on NHW-44 near Police Station Chanderkot. "During search of vehicles, a Tata Mobile, bearing regd. No.JK02AU - 5636, was signaled to stop which on noticing police team tried to fled away from the Naka, police sources said. They added alert Police party gave a hot chase and intercepted the vehicle after a short distance. During the checking of vehicle, 02 bovines were found loaded in the Tata Mobile being transported from Jammu to Kashmir Valley, sources said. They said, "Accordingly, driver has been arrested and a case FIR No. 09/2016 u/s 188 RPC has been registered at PS Chanderkot against the accused. |
