| DKD alleges mushrooming of land grabbing in Akhnoor tehsil | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 10: Lambasting the lackadaisical working of revenue officials of Akhnoor Tehsil, the Dogra Kranti Dal (DKD) said it is a matter of grave concern that the incidents of land grabbing have increased manifold for the past some time in Akhnoor and its peripheries.
Addressing a press conference here today, the state secretary Dogra Kranti Dal Asha Rani alleged that the revenue official have become puppets in the hands of land grabbers.
Rani disclosed that on January 11th DKD has given an application to Naib-Tehsildar Akhnoor and informed him about the construction going on in a Khad at village Gandharwah bearing khasra No. 931 but very surprisingly till date no action is taken by revenue department against the persons who are encroaching the land of khad.
She further said that the astonishing fact is that the construction over khad land is almost completed and sources disclosed that revenue department has asked the people who have done construction over the khad land to 'start living inside the building' in order to show possession. So, this shows that revenue department is openly helping the land grabbers and Tehsildar and Naib-Tehsildar Akhnoor are misusing their official position.
She said that DKD is going to launch massive agitation against the revenue department as gross violation of High Court orders have taken place under the jurisdiction of Akhnoor Tehsil and till date no action has been initiated.
Asha urged the Governor to intervene into this issue and remove Tehsildar and Naib-Tehsildar from their posts immediately. |
