JKCCTU resents anti-employees recommendations of 7th pay commission

Jammu, Feb 10: J&K Co-ordination Committee of Trade Unions (JKCCTU) expressed its serious concern over the retrograde and Anti employees recommendations of 7th,pay commission which can neither be accepted by Central Govt. nor by the State Govt employees.The pay commission recommendations have been framed as per the guide lines of world bank and in pursuance of neo-liberal agenda of central government. The commission had recommended to pursue the policy of contract and casual system more vigorously with further job cut by 30% of the vacant posts besides abolishing of most of the allowances
There is only 14.2% wage increase which is almost equal to one and half instalment of D.A, when the rate of inflation has remaIned double digit mostly during the last decade and Central and State Governments have miserably failed to curb inflation and alarming price rise of essential commodities during this period and even today prices are going beyond the reach of a common man. The commission has also failed to recommend the adequate wage and regularlsatlon policy for casual and contract employees besides ignoring the need base wage of Rs 26000/p.m for group D Employees as suggested by the Trade Unions.The Central Govt. employees confederation and All India State Govt. employees Federation while rejecting the recommendation have decided to launch struggle to force the Govt. of India to change the retrograde aspects of the report and has chalked out the programme of action. The All India State Govt. employees Federation which is representing over six million employees and teachers of the country has decided to stage 10 days Dharna in front of Parliament from 8th, of February 2016. JKCCTU while fully supporting the call of Dharna by AISGEF decided to participate in one day Dharna outside Parliament on 11th' of February .and about one hundred activists and leaders from JKCCTU will participate from Jammu and Kashmir State.
A huge demonstration was held after the press conference outside the press club Jammu which was addressed by Mohd.Maqbool State President JKCCTU and other leaders especially by Gurmeet Singh Gen Secretary, Haji Gh Mohamad Sr. Vice President, Fareed Ahmad Mir, Thodu Ram Viice Presidents and Ab Rashid Najar, Gh Nabi Reshi Mustak Ahmad, Surinder Kumar, Blshan Singh, AJay Sharma, Arvlnder Singh, Dhram Pal, Hura ji and Rukhsana ji.
