Sumit Sharma Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 10: A person who is involved in nine cases, seven of which were lodged by Crime Branch Jammu, is allegedly selling the seized property under the very nose of Crime Branch Jammu. However, expressing haplessness, the Crime Branch is throwing the blame on Revenue department. The accused Bashir Ahmed Manhas s/o Mohd Aslam Khan r/o Surankote, owner of a non-banking finance company running under the name and style of 'United Endoment Ltd' allegedly duped crores of rupees from the innocent persons and was accordingly booked under various offences by Crime Branch Jammu, Police Station Surankote and Police Station Mendhar. The Crime Branch as a part of investigation seized the assets of the accused which he had raised out of the duped money. These assets including two office halls at 2nd floor, K.C Plaza Complex, Residency Road Jammu, Ocean Mineral water factory with 4 kanals of land at Barian Samba, double storey office building with two shops on ground floor located in Poonch city, land at Surankote under different khasra no's, 20 kanals, two single storey building at Surankote comprising 10 rooms, shopping complex in Surankote Main Bazaar and double storey office building, under construction drug factory at Derabasi Punjab, 5 kanal and 7 marla land under khasra number 571 at Buffliaz in the name of Haji Lal Din, agriculture land speared over 300 acres situated at village Yousafpur Kapas, Sharanpur in the name of B.K Kansal and land at village Tandla Breathi, UP. However, the accused has started selling the seized property that too under the nose of Crime Branch. The matter was brought into the notice of Crime Branch by one aggrieved person namely Zakir Hussain Shah. On being inquired by the seniors, the subordinates in Crime Branch, in order to save their skin expressed helplessness and shifted blame on the revenue officers. Crime Branch has also registered another case against the revenue officials. Meanwhile, IGP Crime Branch Muneer Khan assured that he would personally monitor the case. He also advised the people not to invest money with non-banking finance companies. |
