Foundation conducts Nav Chetna Workshop at GCW Gandhi Nagar | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 10 : The Art of living Foundation Jammu chapter conducted Nav Chetna (enhancement of mental and physical skills workshop) the Art of Living Program at Government College for Women Gandhi Nagar Jammu College for NSS students in which 117 students participated with full zeal and enthusiasm. In the camp, the Students were taught Concentration techniques by way of Meditation for a relaxed and stress-free mind .They were also taught yoga and pranayam techniques for a better physical and mental health. The children were also briefed about the knowledge points enunciated by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Padam v- ibhushan Awardee , a renowned Spiritual Guru, humanitarian leader and the founder of International Art of Living Foundation largest nongovernmental and volunteer based Organisation, having presence across the world in 156 countries which highlight the importance of healthy living, cleanliness and hygiene, along with the values of compassion for environment and respect for their teachers and elders. It also stressed upon importance of concentration in studies. With the help of certain games, he checked the skill, mental level and concentration level of students. In subsequent sessions, Ajay kapoor State coordinator for art of living Jammu chapter for youth courses-School and Colleges and Organizer of this workshop interacted with the students and informed them about soft skills and domain knowledge. He made them aware of the importance of these two skills in becoming a successful person and Aligning of body, breath and mind helps in achieving it. The Principal of College Kiran Bakshi was inspiration and Prof Amit pal Kaur and Prof Neelam Thapa were main the coordinators of NSS to this camp. Further NSS students were made aware of the upcoming World Culture Festival (WCF2016) that India would play host to in March 2016, organised to mark 35th anniversary of the Art of Living coming together of political, religious, business leaders, peacemakers and artists to reaffirm that the world can still unite as a community with a sense of meaning and purpose. |
