DC Kishtwar visits Anagnwari centers, finds them locked

Kishtwar, Feb 13: In continued drive to bring transparency, inculcating the work culture and raising the standard of government departments, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ghulam Nabi Balwan along with district immunization officer and district nodal officer for school health program Dr. Daisy Parihar, paid a surprise visit to some Government Anganwadi Centers at Sangrambatta, Matta, Choti Zairat, Badi Zairat and several others in Tehsil Kishtwar and found most of them closed unauthorizedly.
As per the details available withEarly Times, during surprise checking DC Kishtwar found some centers opened, but to his surprise many seemed in unhygienic condition with poor sanitary conditions and the irregular poor supply of nutrients to the children, beside on scrutiny of the record, no proper record was found.
Taking a serious view, DC recommended strict action against the erring Anganwadi Workers, Helpers and their casual approach towards maintain good hygienic conditions which were found in very poor conditions.
Later DC Kishtwar also chaired the Task force Committee meeting to review the Micro Plan for Intensified 2nd round of Pulse Polio Immunization(IPPI)-2016 in District Kishtwar scheduled to be held on 21st , 22nd & 23rd February, 2016. It was informed that the total population of children of the age group up to 5 years in District
Kishtwar will be covered for which 368 Pulse Polio Booths will be established in all the medical Blocks/Zones of the District for which required no of employees will be deployed at these Pulse Polis Booths.
Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar directed Chief Medical Officer Kishtwar to ensure that all required arrangements should be in place at all the Pulse Polio Booths so that cent percent target is achieved.
The meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer Kishtwar, Dy. CMO, Medical Superintendent District hospital Kishtwar Dr. Parvaiz Wani, District Immunization Officer Dr. Daisy Parihar, Executive Engineers PDD & PHE.
