Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 13: In view of the recommendations made by senior officers to post their 'favourite' Inspectors as heads of police stations in Jammu, the transfer list of SHOs, which has been made and changed twice, has now been put on hold. While the work on preparing the transfer list started a month or so back, it has not been finalised as yet due to the unwarranted interference of some senior police officers, according to police sources. Sources said even as there was emergent need of posting SHOs at Bishnah and Domana police stations, which were headless for the past some time, a senior police officer had asked the concerned officer, who was junior to him, to also effect transfers at other police stations to give a chance to the Inspectors who were attached to the district police lines. The transferred Bishnah police station SHO was, however, yet to be relieved, sources informed. On his senior's direction, the concerned officer twice prepared the transfer list of SHOs but dropped it each time following constant pressure from a few seniors to adjust their 'favourite' Inspectors. Sources said since the concerned officer had been promoted to his next rank, he had put the issue of SHOs' transfers in the cold storage for the time being. "He will wait for a day or two for the government order of his promotion and if it gets delayed, he is expected to finalise the list of SHOs' transfer next week. In the list, he is likely to include the names of his seniors' favourites," the sources added. The concerned officer was on leave and would rejoin his service on Monday, sources informed. |
