Jammu, Apr 16: Even as Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Department is struggling to bridge the gap between its revenue and expenditure, it has failed to recover outstanding bills amounting to over 5.61 Crores in sub division Samba only.
As per an RTI response furnished by the department recently, in Sub division-Samba of Samba of Power Development Department, there are 350 defaulters including 76 defaulters having outstanding dues are worth Rs. 5,61,45, 886 Crores whereas remaining 274 defaulters having outstanding between Rs. 50,000 to 1,00,000.
Out of the list, the major contributors to outstanding bills are Manager EOH Development, the Chairman Municipal Committee, Samba and the Chairman municipal committee Street Light and the Medical Superintendent of District Hospital, Samba, whose pending arrears are Rs. 4.96 Lakhs, 3.27 Crores, 4.56 Lakhs, and 1.23 Crores respectively.
