Rajouri, Apr 28: In another embarrassment out of twenty three (23) students from Govt Middle School at Paran, under Dungi Education Zone in Rajouri district , only one could make through examination while the rest managed to get marks between 2 and 8 of the maximum in each subject. On the complaint by the people of the area who demanded the shifting of the whole staff, Chief Education Officer (CEO) Ch Altaf Hussain has replaced two teachers and stopped the salary of all the staff members, except Pawan Kumar post graduate teacher who recently joined the duties, including headmaster till further investigation and action. Source said a deputation of the people of the area had met with Ashok Kumar, Principal GHSS, Chingus, who is also the cluster head and informed him that despite several complaints about the frequent unauthorized absent from duties by the teachers in the past, no action was initiated against them which resulted in poor academic outcome and marked barely '1 %' result of the school in Class VIII Examination. "The school also lack basic facilities like no black board, chalks, desks, drinking water etc,' sources said, adding, "no graduate/post graduate teacher was appointed in this school." "All the teachers including headmaster (regularized ReT) were appointed under ReT adjustment and having 12th class or below qualification" said one of the agitating parents of the students. Ashok Kumar, Principal GHSS Chingus who visited the school after people's protest assured the locals to streamline the system and uplift the education standards in school in questions. "Meanwhile to pacify the agitating people, the authorities have replaced two teachers including headmaster so that they may clear the Bi-annual examination and may get admission in 9th class after summer vacations" said Ashok Kumar. Meanwhile vide his office order No. CEOR/2142-46 dt 27/4/16 , Ch Altaf Hussain , CEO has directed the Zonal Education Officer (ZEO, Dungi to verify the complaint of the people and submit his report along with his comments to his office for further action. "On verbal directions from CEO, two teachers have been replaced and soon after visiting the school a detailed report will be submitted in the office of CEO" said Mulkh Raj, ZEO. |
