Forcible suppression of NIT students' agitation unacceptable: Harsh
4/28/2016 11:25:12 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 28: Extending solidarity with the protesting nationalist students of NIT at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, a battalion of Panther party activists led by Harsh Dev Singh. Balwant Singh Mankotia and Yashpal Kundal along with other leaders staged a protest demonstration against the indictment of the nationalist students for NIT Kashmir row by the enquiry officer at Exhibition Ground Jammu today.
Harsh Dev Singh termed the probe report submitted to the State government by the ADC Srinagar as biased and prejudiced while lambasting the dispensation for showing apathy and indifference towards an explosive issue.
Deploring the obnoxious row in which the nationalist students were abused, assaulted and manhandled for upholding the sanctity of Tricolour, Harsh Dev Singh said that it was shocking and distressing that inquiry findings submitted to the government on April 24 by the ADC Srinagar had reportedly indicted the out stationed nationalist students for allegedly vitiating the atmosphere inside the NIT Srinagar campus.
He lamented that the biased and bigoted report might have devastating effect on the career of several students against whom two FIRs were slapped by the J&K police vis-a-vis on Apr 1 under sections 148(rioting), 149(unlawful assembly), 427(mischief), 336(endangering life of others), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and on Apr 5 under sections 353(assault on public servant) and 188 (disobedience to public servant order) of the RPC.
Rebuking the surrenders and blunders of the BJP, they said that the Saffron Party stood fully exposed for its hypocrisy, dual standards and lust for power which could no more evade the wrath of the people in the days to come.
Others who spoke on the occasion included Rajesh Padgotra, Shankar Singh, Gagan Partap, Sham Gorkha, Nirmal Kishore, and Kewal Krishan Sharma.
