Early Times Report RAMBAN, Apr 29: A revered local Ziarat (religious) was gutted in a blaze near the Jama Masjid in Gool last night. According to the police sources, the fire had completely destroyed a 12'x12' room built about two decades ago in place of a centuries old wooden structure. "However there was no damage to the nearby Jamia Masjid, they added. Pertinent to mention that a sufi saint from Iran, namely Bulbul Shah had reportedly worshipped for about two months during his stay at this place a centuries ago and the shrine thus derived its name. According to police sources, the fire had spread in the room when a chadder (piee of cloth) offered by one of the devotees on the Ziarat (mausoleum) reportedly caught fire from a burning incense stick around 10 pm. "The place being far away from the link road the fire tenders faced difficulty in dousing the billowing flames razing from the religious place. |
