Distt Admn conducts anti encroachment drive in New Plot, Janipur | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 29: District Administration alongwith Jammu Municipal Corporation, Traffic Police and Police conducted a joint anti encroachment drive in the Janipur and New Plot localities to check encroachment of public space and lifted two truckloads of goods stored on roads by traders and imposed fine upto Rs 6500/- from defaulters while traffic police challaned 47 vehicles including minibuses. "Sub Divisional Magistrate Jammu North Avny Lavasa, Tehsildar Jammu North Dr Javed Iqbal, Dy SP Sugandha, JMC Mvo Dr Zafar, JMC Chief Khilafarzi officer Rajesh Gupta, SHO Janipur supervised the drive actively," the spokes person said. According to spokesperson, the drive was conducted to clear the encroachments eating up space of roads which included shops displaying goods and banners on pavements, road, non licenced Street Vendors and wrong parking. "The Jammu Municipal Corporation lifted two truckloads of such goods and levied fines totalling Rs 6500 while the traffic police challaned 47 vehicles including matadors for not stopping at designated matador stops, spokesperson said. He said, "Sub Divisional Magistrate Jammu (North) had received various complaints about traffic jams on the Janipur new plot road due to unauthorized activities encroaching on roads thus blocking space for public use and also causing traffic jams. To check such violations, the drive was conducted such that public grievances are addressed." |
