Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 29: Two TSOs (tehsil supply officers) of CAPD department have been booked by vigilance organisation, Jammu, (VOJ) for allegedly promoting black marketing of kerosene oil in Samba and Vijaypur areas through 23 unauthorised dealers. A VOJ probe revealed that Samba TSO Kuldeep Singh and Vijaypur TSO Sahil Sharma had allegedly connived with 23 unauthorised dealers in their respective areas and issued them 1,69,000 lt and 1,41,000 lt of kerosene oil worth lakhs. None of these dealers had got their licences renewed after 2012 and 2013, according to VOJ sources. They sold the kerosene oil in black market, depriving the government ration holders of it. The two TSOs issued them kerosene oil in utter defiance of the directions of CAPD director, Jammu, that no unlicenced dealer would be given oil, sources said. "The kerosene oil thus issued to the unauthorised dealers has been misappropriated and sold in the black," sources alleged. By doing so, the TSOs had abused their official positions, thereby conferring undue benefit on the unauthorised dealers and putting the state exchequer to loss with the corresponding gain to themselves, sources alleged. VOJ has booked the TSOs under section 5(1) (d) read with section 5(2) of J&K P C Act Svt 2006 and section 120-B of RPC. |
