CAPD goes tough against accused dealers, TSOs

Jammu, Apr 29: Taking the pilferage of government ration seriously, the Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) authorities ordered cancellation of the license of those dealers who were found indulge in black marketing of government ration and Kerosene oil.
Giving information official sources today said that CAPD minister Choudhary Zulfkar had ordered the Secretary CAPD to cancel the license of the dealers involved in black marketing besides, made suspension of the Tehsil Supply Officer (TSOs) effective with in immediate effect.
The dealers include Gharota,Vijaypur and Samba while the TSOs who have faced music included TSO's Samba and Vijaypur namely Kuldeep Singh and Sahil Sharma and TSO Gharota. He further said that the matter of diverting of ration to M/S Kissan Flour Mill has been followed rigorously and action was likely after the inquiry officers submit its report.
Meanwhile official statement stated that following the seizure of government ration by police, the department has suspended license of one private ration dealer namely Vikas Gupta at Mishriwala, Simblewla and Marjali while the authorities have not ruled out role of TSO Bhalwal who failed to respond to Additional Director CAPD Jammu Rural 1 for last 2-3 days and thus was placed under suspension. Meantime a departmental enquiry too has been ordered against him.
Yet in another case retail k.oil license of Miss Anita Devi of Khour too has been placed under suspension for alleged pilferage/black marketing of K.oil. The CAPD authorities have directed Ankush hans AD CAPD Rural 1 Jammu to inquire the matter personally and submit report within a week in above said two cases.
Meanwhile G S Chib Director CAPD Jammu have warned the private ration dealers and K oil dealers to desist from the practices of black marketing/pilferage of ration and directed all concerned that strict action shall be taken against the defaulters under essential commodities act besides termination/cancellation of their licenses.
