JAMMU, Apr 30: After successfully holding the Jammu and Udhampur district meet, Mountaineering Association of J&K conducted Reasi District Sport Climbing competition at Sprawling Buds School, here today.
It was the third competition in a row as the Association organized Jammu district competition on April 27 and April 28, followed by the Udhampur district meet on April 28 at the same venue.
About 60 budding climbers of Reasi district participated in the day-long competition which was conducted only in Junior boys and Mini boys categories. Since almost all the climbers were participating in their maiden competition the competitions were conducted on 'top rope' to make them feel safe and secure.
The competitions were conducted under the supervision of a national judge in Sport Climbing and joint secretary of Mountaineering Association of J&K, Shawetica Khajuria. Whereas Shashi Kant, Hardev Singh Aman Arora and Manik Slathia were the Route Setters cum Belayers while Sakshi Magotra was the judge.
Director of Sprawling Buds School, Rahul Sharma was chief guest, who along with Principal of Amba Kids Home, Panthal, Reasi Ashwani Katoch, presented medals to the winners.
The Results:
MINI Boys: Arif Mushtak, Ist; Sandeep, 2nd and Adil Khan, 3rd. JUNIOR Boys: Aseer, Ist;Yasin Malik, 2nd and Waker, 3rd.
Meanwhile, general secretary of Mountaineering Association, Ram Khajuria has announced that all the medalists of Reasi district shall be imparted proper training in Sport Climbing at Jammu during summer vacations. |
