Jammu, Apr 30: Despite clear cut directions of Apex Court not to use beacon lights, the VIPs including politicians, bureaucrats and others continue to use different beacon lights and flout the rules with impunity.
As per the details available with "Early Times", a VVIP vehicle parked merely 50 meters away from the Jammu residence of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti sent the traffic cops into tizzy and led to a massive traffic jam in the area.
The newly purchased vehicle of Jammu and Kashmir Motor garage without any number plate with a beacon light atop was parked in the middle of the road by its driver which led to chaos and confusion for hours together at busy Wazarat Road in the winter capital.
As the driver and the VIP came out of the CM's residence traffic cops couldn't muster courage to ask them why they had parked the vehicle in the middle of the road. They let the vehicle go.
To the utter surprise, the traffic police van camping adjacent to the VVIP vehicle did not bother to challenge the VVIP traffic violator. Nor was the VVIP challaned.
The sources said the identity of the violator was ascertained but no action was taken against him. |
