| | We want freedom, We want Pakistan, We want India, We want autonomy and we want self-rule.... But as of now need to restore pre-1989 position.... Can you please help me in bringing back peace, brotherhood, tranquility we were having prior to1989 turmoil, because I want to go to market with my Kashmir Pandith brother the way we used to share our festivals like Eid, Shivratri and other sacred festivals. The females folk wants to attend marriages during night without any fear and without spotting any uniformed men on the streets or in the bunkers. Too many demands from freedom to self-rule have confused people and has created chaos in the valley. As of now we will protest peacefully to bring back Kashmiri Pandiths who were migrated from valley under planned strategy because we both Muslims and Pandiths with our cultural ethics tarnished the ill designs of those who wanted to create a wedge between the 02 communities. I remember the day first of the turmoil that erupted in 1989 and it was my first visit to Jammu and Delhi after mass killings in the valley when shops used to get closed at 4 pm and the streets wore a deserted and after the migration of Pandiths when I spotted some Kashmiri Pandiths at the general bus stand Jammu and for a while I became suspicious about my safety but I could not control my emotions and tears when my Kashmiri Pandiths brothers hugged and kissed me along when I disembarked from the bus. They did not allow me to sit in hotel instead took me to their own place where they had started to live their life, though majority of migrants Pandiths were putting up in tents in a miserable condition. With in minutes of my arrival to my friends house an old aged father of my Pandith friend came looked at me and tears started to roll down from his eyes, the tears which were mainly for the killings of innocent Kashmiri muslims and similarly I could not control my emotions after I saw the pity living conditions of migrants in various camps in Jammu. I was shocked to see their pathetic condition but the way I was treated by my Kashmiri Pandiths it was no different to the hospitality with which we have been living in Kashmir from generations. I don,t want to express in what circumstances Pandiths were forced to migrate from the valley nor will name any agency or person as it wont bring any solution at this stage but I am all proud for people of both the communities who with their farsightedness and cultural ethics and brotherhood tarnished the ill designs of some vested interests whose intention was to curtail relations between the two communities. My humble request to all separatists groups, hurriyats and Kashmiri Pandith migration association to start a peaceful campaign for the safe and ever lasting return of Kashmiri Pandiths back to their native places with sincerity leaving ideologies aside. I don.t want to see young boys getting killed as too much blood has spilled in which thousands lost their lives. Those who lost their loved ones can understand the pain. For them cries of self rule, autonomy or freedom makes no sense as the wearer knows were the show pinches. We want to see our young and future generations as the future of the state because no one is desirous to make sons of the soil as scapegoat for a particular class or group which benefited a particular class. If a common Kashmiri cannot afford to send his ward outside country the way some of our leaders have sent their wards abroad permanently, but just pave us way to acquire higher education in reputed Indian institutions Though we have so many instances where our leaders have closed the doors of valley for their loved ones and they settled them abroad permanently as if they are not Kashmiris. It is evident that a common Kashmiri is being used as a scapegoat to keep the Kashmir boiling for their personal scores. My freedom is to see both Kashmir,s emerging as united "Kashmir" which have been occupied by India and Pakistan. It hardly matters for a common man if mainstream politicians demand for a self rule or autonomy or the separatists groups for freedom which seem to have become agenda like sen-sex of stock-exchange which goes up every passing day. I feel emotional when I recall the movements of pre-1989 position in valley when markets were seen busy by customers in buying lush green vegetables of their choice when most of the vegetable vendors use put a cloth on both sides of the streets for displaying and selling variety of vegetables. The space early used for selling daily vegetables/ commodities has now either been occupied by the police/ security bunkers or used as car parking where hundreds of cars can be seen parked on roads which has snatched the fundamental rights of the people by restricting the public moment. Can we call it freedom, self rule or autonomy perhaps "No" we hear cries of innocents who are tortured or killed on different pretexts from the past many years which has snatched livelihood of thousands of oppressed Kashmiri,s by none but by its own people due to mismanagement and mishandling and wrong policies and there seems no end to that in view of the regular protests on Fridays and frequent strikes. For a common Kashmiri everyone in the state including mainstream and the separatists seem hell bent to suck blood of people like a sponge. Feel shocked to see the strike strategy by Hurriyats which has now become order of the day with no positive results but loss to the business communities. Wearer know where shoe actually pinches. What purpose it will serve if you give strike call after innocent killings nothing but you are putting salt in to their wounds after victims family sees everything normal after 02 days. This is what our leaders lack in their strategies, No matter how slain persons family sustains life that is not their concern. There duty ends with just a strike call for a day or 02. There is hardly any difference between the separatists groups, hurriyats or the mainstream politicians. It is separatists or the hurriyats responsible rather helping unscrupulous people in bringing to power which can be deemed as biased stuff. When hurriyats can bring those to the power who are responsible for the miseries of the people who suffered at their hands what can you expect from such leaders? I do not understand what core issue and what vexed issue? What freedom, self rule or autonomy issue? There has been no change in the policies even after 27 years of turmoil that shattered the states economy, properties by giving hollow slogans which paved way for various agencies to create messy situation in which innocents get crushed. Time for some viable and alternative to the issue. |
