PGCIL observes Swachh Bharat Pakhwada from May 1

Jammu, May 1 : Power Grid Corporation of India Limited ( PGCIL) today observe Swachh Bharat Pakhwada in its all offices falling under Northern Region Transmission System-II. The objective is to make India a "clean" India by carrying out cleanliness drives for cleaning of roads, pavements in the residential areas, areas surrounding the establishments of POWERGRID and other social network premises. During this Swachh Bharat Pakhwada, several programmes are being organized in various schools and colleges apart from site offices for creating awareness among the general masses, youth , employees and their family members highlighting effects cleanliness has on our life.
on the first day of the Pakhwada ,at its NRTS-II Regional Headquaters, Jammu pledge was administered to all its employees by the Executive Director, Anil Jain. He impressed upon the employees to practice the virtues of cleanliness in all spheres of their lives. Later all employees led by the Executive Director Sh. Anil Jain cleaned the areas surrounding the office building.
A painting Competition was also arranged at Government High School Raipur Satwari on the theme of "Swachhta" Around fifty students of the school participated in this painting competition despite today being a Sunday . The painting material and all tools were provided to the children by POWERGRID. Executive Director POWERGRID, Northern Region-II, Anil Jain was the chief guest on this occasion. He appreciated the talent shown by the students through their paintings and advised them to contribute in cleaning our surroundings and society. Sonia of class Xth , Mamta and Aman of class VIIIth were declared as First, second and third respectively. Simran Kaur of class VIIth bagged consolation prize. Winners of the painting completion were honoured with prizes by Anju Jain , President Shrishti Mahila Samiti , Smt. Swarna Devi, Principal of the School and other dignitaries present on this occasion.
