Divisional selection chess tourney begins 5/1/2016 8:38:06 PM Early Times Report JAMMU, May 1 : Jammu division selection events for selecting players from Jammu Division for forthcoming nationals in 2016-17 got underway at Ace Chess Academy, here today. The event, organised by Jammu District Chess Association, was inaugurated by president of All J&K Chess Association, Atul Kumar Gupta. The opening day witnessed competition in open category. Ritwan Sauntra emerged winner with four wins and one draw securing 4.5 points. Three players tied at second place with four points each. Considering buckloz tie break system, the second place went to Sumit Grover while third place went to Arushi Kotwal. The fourth place went to Maxim Singh and Soham Kamotra bagged fifth place. Meanwhile, the competition in other age category events shall start tomorrow .The events shall be conducted in all the age categories for boys and girls on different days up to May six.
