Jammu, May 1: Establishment of 33/11 KV Receiving Station at Miran Sahib has been confined to Departmental Projects Reports only, as after lapse of two years, when the process was initiated by the department, funds for the purposes yet to be released. According to Citizens Welfare and Development Council (CWDC) President R K Sharma after intervention of then Commissioner Secretary PDD and Deputy Commissioner Jammu, a process for establishment of Receiving Station was initiated, but the project is still does not exist. "After intervention of the Commissioner Secretary PDD, a project report was prepared and submitted to higher authorities' vide letter date 3/8/2013 for an amount of Rs 159.70 lacs, unfortunately, the process couldn't not reach its logical end", said R K Sharma, adding that another DPR was prepared and forwarded to higher authorities again by the Chief Engineer seeks release of funds for the project. "Afresh DPR for augmentation of 33/11Kv station from 2x6.3 MVA to 2x10 MVA with one additional 10 MVA transformer was submitted by the Chief Engineer vide his letter number CEJ/TS-II/AA/1957-60 date July 7, 2-014", he said and added that unfortunately the DPR was returned by the authorities to Chief Engineer for unknown reasons. However, the representatives' of a population of over 25000, under leadership of R K Sharma in another attempt to get established, the receiving station approached Chief Engineer PDD Jammu. "Responding to people's cry, the Chief Engineer PDD Jammu, made another DPR and submitted it to Chief Engineer, Planning and Design Wing Srinagar, vide letter number CEJ/TS-II/Tec/4025-27 dated September 29, 2015 for grant of Techno Economic clearance for the said scheme for an amount of Rs 298.47 lacs, which is pending for finalization", he said. Said that the people of Meran Sahib and adjoining areas are demanding establishment of the receiving station but not paid heed over their plights. "We have also submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Deputy Chief Minister DrNirmal K Singh, and expecting positive response from them", he said, and added since temperature crossed over 40 degree, the residents of Meran Sahib and its adjoining areas have no option except to wait. |
