Row over reservation in promotions : JKRCEA seeks CM’s intervention
5/2/2016 12:19:06 AM
Early Times Report

Jammu, May 1: While hailing the MLAs who called on State Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti and demanded restoration of reservation in promotions in J&K State, the Jammu Kashmir Reserve Categories Employees Association (JKRCEA) in its executive body meeting held at Gurjar Desh Charitable Trust (GDCT) under the chairmanship of its president, Dr. Sanjay Bhasin.
JKRCEA urged CM for her intervention to restore reservation in promotions which was otherwise available to the employees of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Resident of Backward Area (RBA), Actual Line of Control (ALC), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) categories. The leaders of JKRCEA have said that few selected people are hell bent to damage the cause of more than 85% population of J&K State.
Dr. Sanjay Bhasin, addressing the employees of all reserve categories said that it is very unfortunate that on one side, after scraping of reservation in promotions and the Section 6 of Jammu and Kashmir Reservation Act 2004, & Rules 9, 10 and 34 Jammu and Kashmir Reservation Rules 2005 by J&K High Court, the state govt. which was also a party in this case didn't even try to go to defend its own Act and on the other side, when the aggrieved employees of various reserve categories challenged the J&K high court verdict before Apex court and granted interim relief in the form of stay, the same has been grossly misinterpreted which clearly showed the concern and commitment of govt. towards the people of reserved categories.
Dr Zabeer Ahmed, general secretary of JKRCEA while speaking on the occasion said that Late Mufti Mohd. Sayeed, Former Chief Minister of J&K State was very much concerned about the plight of reserve categories and in order to move further his vision of governance, Mehbooba Mufti too has to win the faith of these marginalized classes.
Roshan Din Choudhary, executive member of JKRCEA appealed the employees of SC/ST/OBC/RBA and ALC categories to remain united and should not swayed by false propaganda.
R.C.Bhasin, Bodh Raj Bhagat (Vice President, All India Bhagat Maha Sabha), Kuldeep Manhan, S.P.Parihar, S.Shukla, Abdul Wahid Zargar, Manoj Kumar, Bavinder Kundal, Romeshwar Kumar, Joginder Paul, Brij
Rana, M.R.Bangotra, Tara Chand, Sushil Kumar, Vijay Kumar and Subhash Kumar were present on the occasion.
