Bali orders inquiry over 'non-functioning of CT Scan' at SDH Bhaderwah

Bhaderwah (Doda), May 2: Expressing dismay over the non-functioning of CT Scan since its installation in Sub-District Hospital (SDH), Bhaderwah, the Minister for Health & Medical Education, Bali Bhagat today ordered an inquiry to find out the cause and fixing the responsibility in a time bound manner in the matter.
During the course of inspection of SDH, Bhaderwah, the Minister noticed that the CT Scan, which was installed about two years ago but was never put to use reducing this costly diagnostic equipment to junk while the patients care suffered for want of its services. The minister immediately ordered an inquiry to find out the truth so that the action against the erring person (s) was initiated accordingly.
He also expressed anguish over the dysfunction of lift and Central Heating System of the Hospital and directed the concerned authorities to take immediate steps to make these services functional immediately. "Government has spent huge funds on purchase of important diagnostic equipments for the hospitals to ensure best medicare facilities to the patients at their doorsteps, but it is unfortunate that the same are not put to use and defeated their very objective, he said and directed to make optimal use of the available equipment and infrastructure for the patient care for which they are acquired.
Minister directed the CMO, Doda to submit the requirements for proper further streamlining and upgradation of medicare facilities in the SDH, Bhaderwah so that the patients do not suffer for want of medicare services. He also directed for vigorously pursuing the proposal of construction of official accommodation for the doctors and para-medical staff posted in the SDH, for which the land has already been acquired. Besides this, the health minister also directed for ensuring proper cleanliness of the hospital premises with special focus on toilets and washrooms.
Managing Director, J&K State Medical Supplies Corporation, Dr Yashpal Sharma, CMO,Doda, Dr Kulbushan and other officers of the health and family welfare departments were present on the occasion.
