jammu, May 2: In its continuous drive against bovine smuggling, Police today claimed to have foiled abovine smuggling bid with rescue of four animals while the manhunt is on to nab the bovine smuggler who managed to give slip to the police during naka checking in Ramgarh of Samba district. Police sources said, "A police party headed by Inspector Ajit Singh, SHO Ramgarh during naka checking intercepted a Mahindra vehicle without registration number carrying 04 bovine animals being transported without permission. "As on seeing the Police Naka laid at Raika Morh Ramgarh, the driver of the said vehicle fled away under the cover of darkness and abandoning the vehicle much before the Police Naka, police sources said. "Accordingly, the animals were rescued and vehicle was seized, sources said, adding, "a case under FIR No 14/2016 u/s 188 RPC was registered at P/S Ramgarh and further investigations are on. "Meanwhile efforts are being made to on to nab the absconding accused driver, police sources added. |
