11 leading schools charge heavy fee, come under CFFS scanner
5/2/2016 11:25:53 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, May 2: For charging exorbitant fee from students, 11 leading private schools in the winter capital have come under the scanner of committee for fixation of fee structure (CFFS).
CFFS had initiated action against 11 leading private schools of Jammu for charging heavy fee from students, official sources alleged.
The committee had received complaints that these schools had increased fee exorbitantly and in violation of the high court directions without proper permission. "The committee has issued notices to the managements of these schools to explain their position," sources claimed.
Managements of these schools were asked to maintain the fees structure of August 2014 as directed by the high court division bench. The schools have also been asked to strictly comply with government order issued under SRO 98 of March 24, 2016. "The schools have been directed to reduce their fee structure wherever arbitrary increase in the fees has been made," sources said. Following complaint by eight parents against one of the schools, the committee had asked its management to submit the school's fee structure record of 2014. Another school situated in the city had assured the committee to abide by the court directions. Students of all the schools and their parents have been asked to pay fee only according to the pattern as was applicable in August 2014 and report the matter to CFFS if any school violates the high court directions.
