Jammu, May 2: Excise Department Jammu has tightened its noose on violators of the various provisions of the J&K Excise Act in entire Jammu division, the sleuths from Excise Department today conducted raids in Kishtwar and R S Pura and realized a fine upto the tune of Rs 1 Lakh from defaulters besides destroying 100 Kls of Lahan and poppy cultivation spread across two kanals. According to spokesperson, under the active supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu Mohammed Shahid Saleem, the Excise Team Jammu South under the command of ETO, Nayeem Moghal and ETO Eradication Wing Jammu Suresh Sharma raided the Deoli, Mkhanpur, Salehar, Dableh, Kothey, Bulandae, Rehal and Kriel Manhasa areas of R S. Pura areas of Jammu district to arrest the menace of illicit distillation. During the drive over 100 kilo ilters of Lahan, two bottles of illicit was destroyed by the team on spot, he said adding, " one person namely Singar Singh son of Bajan Singh resident of Makhanpur was arrested under Sec 48 of the J&K Excise Act." Meanwhile Deputy Excise Commissioner Jammu has imposed a penalty of Rs One lakhs on the owner of Toyota Fortuner who had tried to clandestinely import liquor (imported super deluxe quality) into the J&K State through Lakhanpur Toll Post, which is serious offence. |
