Early Times Report JAMMU, May 2: Two DGP rank officers and at least three other senior ranks stayed away from the dinner party hosted by DGP K Rajendra at G O Mess here Sunday. This shows that all is not well within the state police organisation and officers are divided in the names of lobbies. Rajendra had officially and personally invited almost all the senior ranks to the dinner party, probably his last in the winter capital city here as he is scheduled to retire before the durbar offices moved to Jammu next winters, the two DGP rank officers and at least three other senior ranks did not turn up, police sources said. Media persons were also invited to the party. Of the two DGP rank officers, one is likely to replace Rajendra on his retirement. Sources said Rajendra had invited both of them personally. While one had assured him to come to the party, the other had expressed his helplessness. The one, who was almost certain to join Rajendra at the dinner party, too did not turn up at the eleventh hour, citing personal reasons, sources informed. Sources alleged that the duo deliberately did not attend the party because they were unhappy over the functioning of PHQ. There were some officers, who came to the party, but left soon thereafter. |
