KATHUA, May 3: In order to curb the menace of illicit distillation of liquor and illegal cannabis plantation in Kathua, the J&K Excise Department has intensified raids at the hub of illegal activities and destroyed about 350 kgs of material used to extract illicit liquor i.e. lahan.
The Excise Team Kathua under the command of ETO, Sandeep Gupta and ETO Eradication and Enforcement Wing Jammu Suresh Sharma raided the Kundechak, Tanda, and Chakbhardambra areas of Kathua of district to arrest the menace of illicit distillation.
"More than 350 hundred kilo grams material for extraction of lahan, 20 bottles of illicit liquor made from Lahan was recovered by the raiding team which was later destroyed by the team on spot.
Further, in district Kathua the Excise Team Kathua and Eradication wing Jammu in a joint operation with Municipal Committee Kathua, Floriculture Department, Kathua and district administration Kathua conducted Bhang destruction in Kathua city . The team destroyed Bhang on three kanals of land. |
