Early Times Report Bhaderwah, May 4: Three persons, including a driver, were feared drowned in mighty river Chenab when the tipper they were travelling skidded off the road and rolled into the Chenab in the Karara area on Doda Kishtwar road. As per police reports, driver of the tipper lost control over the vehicle while negotiating a sharp curve following which it skidded off the road at Karara around 7:30 AM and rolled into Chenab, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda, Zahid Naseem Manhas, said."As of now we are not sure that how many people were in the vehicle at the time of accident. "We have started rescue operations soon after the accident took place at 8:00am and are trying our best to locate the tipper," he said. He said divers have been impressed into service to fish put bodies while an alert has been sounded along the river to locate those missing, including the driver. Meanwhile reports added that locals and family members of deceased from Bhalessa held protest and closed road near Karara for hours demanding massive search operation to trace bodies. Police reports have identified that Mehboob Ali driver 32, s/o Abdul Rashid of Kilotran , Bhalessa ,along with his helper and other person was on his way to Jammu from Bhalessa when the accident took place. |
